A Tupilak is a mythical avenging monster from Inuit religion and folklore .
In the past, they were carved using bits of animal parts (whale bone, antlers)
Sometimes human hair was used,
Using chants and magic, the Tupilak were brought to life and sent to the bottom of the ocean to avenge or exact justice.
Tupilaks are no longer sent as curses.
The modern Tupilak is highly collectible and is associated with the Inuit of Greenland.
The majority of Tupilaks are fantasy creatures.
It is rare to see a Tupilak carved in a Realistic style like SEALED WITH A KISS.
Sealed is a beautifully carved Hunter pulling his Seal catch back to his sled.
The detailed carving is inspirational.
The rope, the facial features, the seal.
